DIY Gallery Wall (Budget Edition)
There is something so magical about a gallery wall. There are just so many possibilities to be had with them! And honestly, if you shop right, you can cover an incredible amount of space with little financial investment.
My best kept trick for a simple but impactful gallery wall is —
buy bigger but fewer.
I’ve found that larger frames (11x14 minimum) make for the best gallery walls. When I’ve used smaller in the past, they end up looking busy, cluttered, and jumbled. The smaller frames don’t quite give that impactful, statement gallery wall vibe.
When using bigger frames, you have a few options:
Use all of the same (again, minimum of 11x14 in my opinion)
Mix-and-match big with even bigger
Mix-and-match big with some smaller accent pieces
I never paid more than $50 for a full gallery wall by using THESE frames.
I love these frames for their price point but also because they have wood frames and glass-like fronts. You would never, ever be able to tell how cheap these are just by looking at them. Full disclaimer: they have the cheapest back tabs but beggars can’t be choosers.

THESE Michael’s thin black frames (also go on similar deals - buy 1, get 2 free!)
THESE Target Threshold Frames are awesome but come at a much higher price point than the Michael’s ones. Like Michaels, they come in numerous sizes, colors, have real wood frames and true glass front. The bonus: they have the BEST back tabs. They spin in and out so you don’t break your nails trying to switch out pictures. If you know, you know.
THESE Amazon frames are also a great find. They come in a really great, XL size.
Frames found at Goodwill or local thrift stores have all kinds of character and typically come at a bargain
Gallery walls can literally go anywhere you have open space. Show off your beautiful family, pets, and friends. Adding a gallery wall does wonders to personalizing your space.
